As a licensed psilocybin assisted therapy facilitator, I embody care, concern, curiosity and connection. My approach has a mystical element and is trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices. My style is holistic, humanistic and humorous. In my way of thinking, when we stay curious and trust this type of deep emotional process instead of resisting it, we can more comfortably navigate a broad spectrum of mental and emotional landscapes; we recognize we have the capacity to feel our feelings, endure discomfort, and can maintain a consistent connection with ourselves.
In the 200+ hours I have spent sitting with people in non-ordinary states of consciousness, I continuously witness what this sacred process usually illuminates: the felt sense of connection to something greater than ourselves, and clarity about what really matters. What really matters to most people happens to be Love.
My primary role is to tend to my client’s comfort and safety during all phases of their psilocybin journey. I trust that what is unfolding for them is natural and welcome, and that they have the capacity to move through whatever arises, with my support, and their own inner knowing. I am a firm believer in thorough preparation and integration to expand the states during the journey to traits in ordinary life.
In 2014, I started calling my work The Happiness Lab. I worked for Marin County Behavioral Health and created a treatment program for people whom the health care system had thus far failed. Daily, we endeavored to discern what would help, what would make things better for them. Through my work with the community members who had severe impairments from mental health symptoms, and were dependent on substances that made things worse, we discovered key elements to recovery- mindfulness, connection, play, gratitude, and movement. Turned out those elements made things better for all of us.
Among many things, I condone awe walks, dancing, meditation, forest baths and solitude as avenues to reconnect with ourselves. I value working with people of all backgrounds. I am a parent, and an LGBTQIA2S+ ally. I welcome those who have been disenfranchised or marginalized because of their sexual orientation, gender or ethnicity or neurodiversity. What you put in your body for medicine or recreation is your choice, and not something for me to judge, or ask you to change. I look forward to discovering supportive resources, materials and practices that make things better for you, as you prepare for and integrate your psilocybin assisted therapy experience.
Included in my training and experience are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Astrology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectcial Behavioral Therapy, Harm Reduction, Hakomi, Intuitive Training, Leadership Academy, Reiki I and II with Humans and Horses, and teaching English in Japan. Please see more about my dynamic professional experience in the links below. I thank my ancestors, friends, family, mentors, teachers, leaders, clients and all other beings who have made it possible for me to serve my community in this way. The medicine is already and always inside of you.
